Landscape related factors affecting urban sprawl in European cities

Mestrado em Arquitetura Paisagista - Instituto Superior de Agronomia - ULThis thesis aims to discuss some issues related to the actual situation of suburban sprawl in Europe and focuses on the nature and landscapes. Urbanization is a main topic in EU, since cities are still growing, economy is stabilized, although it faced some challenges during the last decade and the larger part of Europe experiences a long period of time with no war or health epidemic. People have the resources to invest in new housing and in many cases they want to fulfill their dream of a house with garden. But this vision requires a lot of space usage so cities are sometimes spontaneously expanding beyond their borders and sometimes it does not even correspond to state urban policies. Urban sprawl is also a serious issue for European nature that does not have as many space alternatives as for example the USA. There are issues with coastal habitats, landscape fragmentation and loss of natural habitats. Thus, this thesis aims to find the main drivers behind urban sprawl and issues related to them. It analyzes its political, economic or social background and deducts solutions for urban sprawl repair with the help of successful projects or experience of states/cities, that suffered from urban sprawl but managed to find a way how to keep the urban development in balance. In this thesis it is a case of Norway. In practical part of this thesis, two case studies were chosen to represent characteristic problems of urban sprawl. They are from Portugal (regional level) and Czech Republic (community level). Those two cases are analyzed independently on each other and variations of solutions are found for themN/

Housing financing options

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku jednotlivých možností financování bydlení. V první části práce jsou uvedeny pojmy a vztahy finanční matematiky, potřebné k výpočtům v dalších částech práce. Dále je podrobně rozebrán hypoteční úvěr a další produkty pro financování bydlení. Je zde uvedena jejich základní charakteristika, právní úprava či výhody a nevýhody každého z produktů. Zmíněna je i možnost investic a spoření za účelem koupi nemovitosti v budoucnu. V další části práce jsou uvedeny současné nabídky bydlení v České republice a provedeny výpočty výhodnější varianty.ObhájenoThe bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of housing financing options. In the first part of the work, concepts and relations of financial mathematics necessary for calculations in other parts of the work are presented. The mortgage loan and other housing financing products are also discussed in detail. Their basic characteristics, legal regulation or advantages and disadvantages of each of the products are listed here. The possibility of investments and savings for the purpose of buying real estate in the future is also mentioned. In the next part of the work, the current housing offers in the Czech Republic are presented and the calculations of the more favorable variant are carried out

The development of representation of classical heroes in film and television production

For centuries classical myths have been an unfading source of inspiration for various fields of human production. Integral part of the myths are their heroes. This bachelor thesis aims to explore the development of the representation of classical heroes in film. Introduction to the theoretical part defines the terms myth and mythology. A brief study of the circumstances surrounding the origin of myths, their significance for classical society and the role of heroes in these myths follows. The end of the theoretical part is dedicated to the study of representation in film and other relevant concepts in the field of film and media theory. The methodology chapter sets out the procedures used to perform the empirical research. Three pairs of films with the same mythical theme have been selected for this research. The practical part contains performed analyses and comparisons of the examined films. At the end of the thesis are presented interpretations of analyses and research results and outlined the possible causes of the described development in the representation. The work fulfilled its goal and confirmed the established hypothesis of a certain correlation between the development of society and the representation of classical heroes in films

Nedílnou součástí mýtů jsou jejich hrdinové. Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl popsat vývoj reprezentace antických hrdinů ve filmu. V úvodu teoretické části jsou vymezeny pojmy mýtus a mytologie. Následuje krátká studie okolností vzniku mýtů, jejich významu pro antickou společnost a úlohy héroů v těchto mýtech. Závěr teoretické části je věnován zkoumání reprezentace ve filmu a dalším relevantním pojmům z oblasti filmové a mediální teorie. V kapitole metodologie jsou stanoveny postupy užité pro vypracování praktické části. Ke zkoumání byly vybrány tři dvojice filmů se stejným mytickým námětem. Praktická část obsahuje provedené analýzy a komparace zkoumaných snímků. Na konci práce jsou prezentovány interpretace analýz a výsledky výzkumu a nastíněny možné příčiny popsaného vývoje v reprezentaci. Art gallery Prague Lannova

Předmětem této diplomové práce bylo urbanistické a architektonické řešení území, které uzavírá jednu z důležitých os města Prahy. Hlavním tématem byl návrh galerie na území dnešního Lannova parku, který představuje jakousi proluku mezi nejrůznějšími reprezentativními budovami podél řeky Vltavy. Náplní této galerie je móda a textilní průmysl, odvětví, které neustále roste, vyvíjí se a je nedílnou součástí každodenního života. Přesto však v Praze nemá na rozdíl od světových metropolí své reprezentativní zastoupení. Cílem bylo vytvořit nejen galerii, ale také znovu oživit náplavku na nábřeží Ludvíka Svobody v návaznosti na nový důležitý bod, místo setkávání a aktivit ve městě. Hmotové řešení je navrženo s ohledem na význam a okolní zástavbu tohoto místa jako převážně nízkopodlažní s věží, která uvozuje celou galerii. V rámci objektu jsou navrženy provozy butiků, výstavních sálů, sálu pro módní přehlídky a další prostory včetně exteriérového propojení s náplavkou pro bohaté vyžití návštěvníků.The aim of this thesis was urban and architectural design of a territory, which closes one of the major axes of the city of Prague. The main topic was design of a gallery in today's Lann?s park, which is sort of a gap site between various representative buildings along the Vltava River. The purpose of this gallery is fashion and textile industry, a constantly growing and evolving branch, which is an integral part of everyday life. However, Prague, not unlike the world's other metropolises, has no representation there. The aim was to create not only a gallery, but also to revive the riverside on the Ludvik Svoboda?s waterfront in response to a new and important point, a meeting place and activity point in the city. The material solution is designed with regard to the importance and surrounding buildings of this place as a predominantly low-rise building with a tower, which introduces the whole gallery. Within the building there are designed boutiques, exhibition halls, a hall for fashion shows and other spaces including exterior connection with the waterfront for rich entertainment of the visitors
